Alexandria University receives Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda

Prof. Dr. Rushdi Zahran, President of Alexandria University, welcomed Sheikh Saleh Habimana, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda in Cairo, in order to strengthen the ties of cooperation between the Alexandria University and the universities of Rwanda and to benefit from Alexandria University expertise and specialized scientists for the community  development there, especially in the agricultural, engineering and medical fields and prepare for signing a joint cooperation agreement in the areas agreed thereon.

Dr. Zahran said that Alexandria University is eager to open the horizons of cooperation with all African countries, pointing out the possibility of cooperation with universities in Rwanda, the establishment of joint scientific projects, the preparation of training programs in the areas that they need and organization of short scientific visits for three months or longer for a year for this purpose, for which the students do training and rehabilitation by specialized professors. He added that the university organizes health, medical and agricultural convoys regularly in many African countries to serve the community there. A new convoy will be launched in Tanzania in the middle of next month.

The Ambassador praised the supporting role of Egypt in the service of African countries, pointing to the need for these countries to prepare qualified cadres with scientific degrees such as master's and doctoral to meet the challenges and play their role to serve their countries with modern scientific means.

Prof. Dr. Sediq Abdul Salam, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research pointed that the university continues to accept African students wishing to obtain scholarships for students of the Nile Basin countries to be awarded master's and doctoral degrees in various disciplines until the end of this month
